I want to personally welcome you to Matagorda Episcopal Health Outreach program (MEHOP), where we consider it an honor to serve you. We are pleased that you have chosen us to be your healthcare partner.
MEHOP is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which means two very important things: the first is that everyone is welcomed through our doors; there are no exclusions of any type. The second is that MEHOP is YOUR community health center. All FQHC’s are run by their patient members.
For over 20 years, MEHOP has upheld these values, formed around the following principle: YOU, the patient, are the center of everything we do. So, if you feel we are not meeting your needs, please let us know.
When you choose to become a MEHOP patient, you have access to every service we offer. Services offered at our Bay City location include Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Family Dental, and Behavioral Health. Our clinics located in Wharton offer the same services with the exception of Family Dental and Ophthalmology. We can also assist with any challenges you may face such as transportation, housing, insurance enrollment, and accessing affordable medications. All our staff members have access to your registration information, so it is not necessary to re-register as a patient if you want or need additional services.
As a certified healthcare home, our philosophy is that it’s not limited to coming into the health center. It also is about eating healthy foods, getting enough exercise, having meaningful relationships, and enjoyable employment. We view these things as “whole person healthcare”. Our staff can help you find the right resource to any of the building blocks for a healthy lifestyle.
