After a delay caused by unprecedented winter weather, MEHOP received 2nd dose vaccines the week of February 22nd, a week after their anticipated arrival date.
Those who received their 1st dose vaccinations at MEHOP’s prior vaccination clinics in Bay City and Wharton have been scheduled to receive their 2nd dose with this latest shipment.
Once MEHOP receives confirmation of our next scheduled vaccine shipment, we will begin utilizing our wait list again to schedule a new group for 1st dose vaccinations.
Currently, other local vaccination sites include; Matagorda Regional Medical Center, Palacios Community Medical Center, El Campo Memorial Hospital, Wal-Mart, CVS, HEB and Walgreen’s. Vaccinations at each location are by appointment only. Some locations have a wait list you may add your name to, while registration at other locations is only available when vaccines are on hand.
According to Texas Health and Human Services, to date, 2,472 people have received their 1st dose of the COVID -19 vaccine and 1,333 are fully vaccinated in Matagorda County. In Wharton County, 3,390 have received their 1st dose and 1,907 are fully vaccinated.
